Established as a church pre-school by St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, St. Stephen’s Nursery School has been in continuous operation since 1968. St. Stephen’s Nursery School is a private academic school licensed through the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

St. Stephen’s Nursery School offers the best in preschool experiences for your child in small classes with a low teacher to child ratio. Classes are taught by qualified, caring, experienced, early childhood teachers who establish an atmosphere where the values of respect, responsibility and brotherhood are practiced. The program stresses challenge, goal setting, communication, exploration, awareness and acceptance of the uniqueness of each child.

We have an established learning-through-play environment for this fast paced world. Our curriculum develops the child’s self confidence and kindergarten readiness.  We focus on large and small muscle development, art experiences, nature study, cooking, working with manipulatives, science exploration, rhythms and movement.  Our program builds skills in mathematics, language arts, and hand writing, while incorporating everyday values and morals.

We use the Creative Curriculum by Teaching Strategies throughout all of our classrooms.

St. Stephen’s has the distinction of having a teaching staff whose members are all certified teachers with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Early /Elementary Education. Teachers are required to complete additional course work annually. All staff have CPR/First -Aid certification.

St. Stephen’s is a NUT-FREE school
